Welcome to the UK Loco’s & Rolling Stock download page. I must extend my gratitude to Ian Tiley for his continued assistance. Ian has written an extensive code to run as a macro in Microsoft Word, which in turn creates the report directly from my DB. This has also enabled a far better design than the previous reports I sent via email.

The reports will be saved as ‘rtf’ documents in a zipped file: you will need a version of Microsoft Word to be able to open and read them as well as WinZip to access the document.

The stock lists will be displayed in County order, then by location followed with all known stock. Although I’ve tried to squeeze in as much information as possible, other details will require further investigation on the search facility. The reports will be large. Microsoft Word has a ‘Find’ option either by ‘ctrl+F’ or the ‘binocular’ icon. This is useful to find a County or Location quickly rather than scrolling through hundreds of pages.  The stock list will be updated in line with the search facility on a monthly basis. 

Abbreviations

(abbreviations.xls)  This contains files of all the abbreviations found within the main stock list reports. Alternatively you can find individual records on the search facility where the full description will always be displayed.

Stock List in A4 Landscape Format

These are designed to give a little more detail per record and are ideally used for reference. You can however print them if you wish but expect to use a lot of ink and paper. Another option, as others used in the past, is to open a new blank document and copy/paste locations you’re visiting.

Stock List in A4 Portrait Format

These are designed to give a little less detail and will be better suited for printing, although the files will still be extensive. They will include a tick box for those who like to make a note of their sightings.

Will also follow at a later date.

Please Note

This is still very much a work in progress. For the time being the complete list will only be available. My original DB had to be completely redesigned to not only accommodate a better search facility but also to generate a better report structure. Please read the search tips for the current situation. More download options will be available over time. This will include a locomotive only report, as well as other combinations of stock types. Also possible will be options such as builder lists etc.  Please refrain from requests until I’m in a position to offer these. Some reports may not be possible until 2012 as I still have much to do.
