NGRS members, Yahoo newsgroup readers and guests living in the South East may be interested in the 2011 season fixtures arranged by the London and Southern Area of the Society (see below). These meetings provide opportunities for plenty of convivial chat about the narrow gauge: there's a bar and a bookstall as well. 2011 Season
Meetings are held jointly with the Welshpool and Llanfair Light Railway on Monday evenings at The Model Railway Club, Keen House, Calshot Street, N1. The hall is a few minutes walk from King’s Cross and St. Pancras stations. Programmes start at 7.30pm and end by 10pm. Refreshments are on sale and there is an excellent bookstall. All members and friends are welcome.
Monday 14 February 2011 - The 40th Annual Alan Willmott Show of transport films old and new - Alan presents another selection of 16mm transport films old and new with the accent this time on vintage British narrow gauge.
Monday 14 March 2011 - The Sierra Leone Railway. Our guest speaker is Steve Davies, Director of the National Railway Museum. Steve was responsible for setting up the Sierra Leone National Railway Museum.
